At Castaway Cay cycling the island was what I looked forward to most. After a picnic style lunch of grilled chicken, potato salad and cole slaw at Cookies BBQ – and a quick stop for an ice cream cone – Michael and I picked up our bicycles. Rentals on the island happen directly on the beach. Rows of pink-seated bikes for girls and white-seated bikes for boys await their riders in the sand and sunshine. I hadn’t been on a bicycle in over 20 years – but I was flying in no time! Exploring the offshore paths was relaxing and wonderful and absolutely quiet. Not a single sound but the breeze around you – a big treat for a city girl. We met several families also enjoying the trails on a two-wheeled adventure. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
