It might just be my Canadian palate but when given the choice for something sweet I invariably choose a doughnut. More sophisticated selections of pastry are offered by the trayful at Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie in the France Pavilion at Epcot. But on my recent visit there it was the simple Beignet – described to me in a fantastic French accent as “like a doughnut” – that inevitably won out over the Eclairs, Macarons and Raspberry Mousse Cake. Definitely doughnut-like in its consistency and filled with Hazelnut Chocolate Cream, it was the perfect answer to a four o’clock craving.
